I’m Gladys the heart behind Abena Studio. I’ve been doing hair for as long as I can remember. What started as a natural gift became a calling I couldn’t ignore. After high school, I went to college to pursue nursing because I believed that was the way I would make the biggest difference in people’s lives. Two years in, I realized my purpose didn’t look like a hospital it looked like a styling chair. Walking away from nursing wasn’t easy. I questioned whether I had just walked away from my ability to truly impact people. But the moment I began styling clients professionally and watched their confidence shift in real time, I knew I hadn’t lost my purpose I had found it. For nearly a decade, I’ve had the privilege of serving women during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. From everyday transformations to wedding mornings filled with emotion, I don’t just style hair I help women see themselves differently. Bridal styling holds a special place in my heart. Your wedding day is sacred. It’s emotional. It’s once in a lifetime. I approach every bride with intention, calm energy, and an understanding that how you feel matters just as much as how you look. As a wife myself, I understand the depth of that day and I honor it. At Abena Studio, this is more than beauty. It’s confidence. It’s care.
